Used Car Lots In Savannah Ga – The property is filled around automotive equipment on the Savannah Highway, and it’s time to move. Palmetto Ford markets dozens of new F-150s – the best-selling trucks in the country – also Escape, Expedition, Fusion, Focus and a very sporty Mustang. Next to it, Palmetto Certified Pre-Owned offers almost all new models covered by the manufacturer’s best inspection programs to ensure the vehicle is in the best condition. And, the dealer group will soon build a new Palmetto Lincoln showroom at 1627 Savannah Highway to showcase luxury models such as the 2018 Navigator SUV, which “runs very well,” he said. It is expected to start in September.
Adjustment of inventory left one name outlet, Used Car Mama, almost crowded. The room was “rather cramped,” said Graham Eubank, owner of Palmetto Automotive Group. Scanning vacancies near and along the Savannah Highway, the Ford-Lincoln crew saw the former Copper Station Auto car dealer site.

“We see that the property is available,” Eubank said. “We need additional space.” Palmetto leases a stretch of 2323 Savannah Highway, at the south entrance to Interstate 526 and exits between Savage Road and Melrose Drive, from landowners John Shields and family. “We are doing a total recovery,” Eubank said. The Used Mama car was opened in a new local area around May 1, and the operator hopes to hold a grand opening in early July.
An extra-wide lot of sports, two wooden frame buildings gradually filled, offering a wide range of 30-40 cars, trucks and SUVs. Eubank said he was aiming for 80 vehicles once “we got off the ground,” he said. “We think we can get 200 vehicles if we want,” he said.
Ken Bowman served as general manager and Steve Chisolm, business manager for Mama’s Used Cars. The two leaders have more than two decades of experience with Palmetto Ford. There are also three salespeople on site; Eubank said he wanted to add one or two more.
“We have Mama’s (certified) service that checks vehicles out,” Eubank said.
Used car dealers hope to sell all types of vehicles previously owned, he said. Some customers may have credit problems. “Good people fall on hard times. They can get financing, “he said.
Mama was not the first Palmetto Automotive Group business to separate itself from the main operation. Palmetto runs a boat dealer across the Savannah Highway. Lowcountry 4×4 and Truck Specialization supplies wheel kits, tool boxes and truck antennas from its stores on the Savannah Highway near Dupont Road and on Johnnie Dodds Boulevard at Mount Pleasant.
Eubank said dealers hoped to keep 300 used vehicles at a price range on the Palmetto property.
A recent marketing move to promote the Used Mama Car involved in bringing Libby Armstrong back, “Mama” has white hair from TV, radio and print advertisements especially in the 1990s and 2000s. Armstrong, now 96, will introduce retro-style advertisements that will return to a number of theatrical plays from the past. Those parts included the younger Armstrong and the late David Simmons, who often played with him as “straight grandmother”. In one TV advert, he jumped over a household energy charger that made the toy run after a worker told him to “jump the battery. ”
Eubank said, “He did a good job. That’s just name recognition. “
