Used Cars For Sale In Pittsburgh By Owner – Pittsburgh withdrew cash in truckloads through online auction of used city vehicles and equipment, the Mayor’s office said Friday. The city has received $ 771,971 since starting an auction through the GovDeals company in November 2014.
The biggest seller uses a garbage truck, which has generated $ 170,662 in total sales, followed by police vehicles, for a total of $ 147,818. “GovDeals has proven to be a useful tool and allows a fairly simple process to dispose of various types of unused items, from supply of art to old fire trucks,” said city budget director Jennifer Presutti.

He has a Ford Explorer 2014 police vehicle, a 2007 Chevrolet ambulance and a 2008 Harley-Davidson police motorcycle sold on the auction website.
Former City Council Member Dan Gilman, now chief of staff of Mayor Bill Peduto, sponsored the 2014 law which created online auctions. Gilman said at the time that the city lost “tens or even hundreds of thousands” every year in potential sales.
The auction has so far averaged $ 197,276 in sales each year, according to the Mayor’s Office.
