Used Cars Lewiston Id – What will happen to hundreds of rescue vehicles sitting on 25 hectares facing Clearwater Paper in East Lewiston is not clear because Forest Auto Parts is closed today. The affiliate business, Forest Towing, will continue to operate 24 hours a day. Forest Auto Parts vice president Eric Forest, employed by Hells Canyon Harley-Davidson in Lewiston, refused to be interviewed for this story.
Idaho’s Environmental Quality Department does not have requirements that must be followed up due to closure, according to the agency. Land and several shops on the property together have a value of around $ 625,000, according to appraiser Nez Perce County.

Old school buses form an informal fence around a very large property divided by roads to provide access to other cars and vehicles.
Forest Auto Parts was founded in 1961 by Sheldon R. Forest, who died only 10 years later during a business trip to Chicago. Other members of the Forest family continue to operate this business.
Forest Auto Parts plays an important role in saving many people in the Lewiston-Clarkston Valley on vehicle repairs, often without them knowing it, said Dave Kavanaugh, owner and founder of PDQ Import Repair, which has been in business since 1988.
Businesses buy cars that have been damaged or left behind or no longer functioning, Kavanaugh said. “They strip them and sell parts that can be used from them.”
The parts used usually cost half as much as the new one, Kavanaugh said.
In some older cars, the parts used might be the only option, Kavanaugh said. “It’s very sad they left. … I will miss them. ”
And while Forest Auto Parts parts sold usually have thousands of miles above them, the business is careful about what it sells.
Kavanaugh recalls an incident when he asked for a part and was told by an employee that he had one but he would not sell it to him. Kavanaugh needed a moment before he realized the reason was the part was broken.
“They don’t sell problems,” Kavanaugh said. “They have a reputation and can be trusted.”
The area still has at least one other business – Central Grade Auto Parts – which provide the same service. But without Automotive Parts, repair sites have to use the Spokane business more often, Kavanaugh said.
That means that customers may have longer waiting times and higher costs for parts due to transportation, Kavanaugh said. “(Forest Auto Parts) is used to send to the store. This is rather useful. “
