Used Cars Panama City Fl – When I grew up in Korea, I often traveled to Hong Kong in the 60s and it amazed me how the City looked so bright at night with its tall buildings clustered together and the streets crowded with people who go to various places at any time. I used to tell my young girlfriend, “this city is great and I bet it will happen !!” If I just realized the sharpness of real estate I had in my youth and invested in an apartment there (remember when gold was $ 35 per ounce). Well, I saw Panama City like I did a few weeks ago when I visited and I felt the same way. Only this time I knew only a few years before this City became the American Capital.
Panama City shines. The sun illuminates the mirrored windows of the new high-rise condos, which reflect the blue waters of the blue Gulf of Panama. This also illuminates the people of that country, including its rapidly growing middle class. Women wear designer clothes, men play golf, and everyone has a cellphone, a new car, a big screen TV … They live like people do (or used to) in the US and Canada.

This is not rampant materialism as we see it at home. Mostly, Panamanians save money. For years, they have to keep an eye on their money. And they still do it. They are not bound to limits (and exceeded limits) on credit cards and mortgages. They only become more prosperous because their country grows stronger economically.
This is a very important point for anyone considering moving abroad: Panama’s financial future is safe, and it provides stability that other countries do not have.
There is no debate that the $ 5 billion Panama Canal expansion project + brings big money to the country. This is one of the most important public works projects in the world. Engineers, environmental scientists, high-tech equipment operators, maintenance technicians … they all bring their families (and their reliable salaries) to Panama. Schools are being built and shops, restaurants, entertainment centers and more are being opened to serve them.
Large companies also move their regional headquarters to Panama. It makes sense, Panama is a buckle in the belt between North and South America, a logical hemispherical hub, equidistant for both continents.
To facilitate the growth of Panama, a new city is being built on the basis of the former US-operated Howard Air Base outside Panama City. This is a big project – a $ 700 million project being built by London and Regional, one of the most prestigious development companies in the world.
For all these reasons and many more, Panama prospered, despite a decline in the housing real estate market. And that is why most Panamanians live very well lately. Money flows to the country from sustainable sources, and their jobs and businesses are safe.
As I mentioned, Panamanians know how to stretch dollars (which in this case is a great attribute because the US dollar is the official currency). In Panama you can cut your hair, take a taxi, or enjoy a full (and healthy) meal for $ 3, or watch a movie for $ 4. You can rent an apartment in a city or a house near the beach for $ 500 a month. A full-time housemaid, caregiver, or elder assistant (if you want) will cost you less than $ 300 a month. Health care costs are very low, too … at least compared to the US ($ 6- $ 20 for doctor visits, $ 10 for blood tests, etc.)
And the designer clothes and widescreen TV that I mentioned? The second largest free trade zone in the world (and the largest in America) is in Panama. Panama is Mecca shopping … very discounted prices for all types of goods … electronics for pharmaceutical products, liquor, cigarettes, furniture, clothing, shoes, jewelry, toys, etc.
When you think of the purpose of overseas relocation, keep this in mind: Panama is an easy place to move. Safe, stable (both financially and politically), and not expensive. This is very progressive in terms of education, culture, health care, and general lifestyle offers. And it offers – both for its citizens and foreigners – one of the most generous pension plans in the world.
When I was in town a few weeks ago I lived in Casco Viejo, like Old Havana and what was South Beach in Miami after a day of Deputy Miami. It cleans its acting and is a trendy place to live, eat, drink and have fun and host the Presidential Palace and National Theater. Casco looked back to New Panama City just like the South Coast to downtown Miami.
