Used Cars Vineland Nj – The Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office has identified a vehicle believed to be related to the murder of a Millville who attended the practice of midget league football in August. District prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae said passengers in the same vehicle – believed to be burgundy or maroon 1997 to 2003, four-door Pontiac Grand Prix – fired shots at a police officer on Route 55 before finally avoiding law enforcement during the chase.
Joseph Jones, 37, was shot dead at around 8:15 a.m. on August 9 in Lakeside Middle School parking lot while football midget league training takes place at the nearest field. The prosecutor’s office previously called Jones’ killing “the targeted attack.”

“We are committed to bringing those who commit these terrible crimes, regardless of our children, people who travel, or our police officers, to court,” Webb-McRae said Tuesday. “We develop many promising prospects and need public assistance to capture those responsible and see that justice is being served. Any assistance from the public in identifying vehicles or those responsible for these crimes is valued.”
Webb-McRae said the vehicle was related to Jones’s murder and the next chase with the police on Route 55 had a New Jersey number plate ZJ761H.
“Even though the tag has been identified, it has been determined that it is not properly registered to the vehicle in question,” said Webb-McRae.
Jones’s murder pushed the Millville Midget Football League to temporarily suspend league activities until it was considered safe to return to action.
The league returned to training on 17 August after president Rob Ennis said a new video surveillance system was installed and voluntary watches would patrol facilities during training and games.
Webb-McRae asked anyone who had information about the shooting to call Lieutenant George Chopek on 609-381-2046. He said information could also be shared by downloading the CCPOTIP application for iPhone or Android and choosing the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office. Those who have information can also send anonymous tips to text 847411 with CCPOTIP and tip in the message line. Tips can also be submitted on the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office Facebook page.
